A Google search will provide a bunch of Adam Jacobson listings. But there’s only one Adam R Jacobson.
ADAM R JACOBSON is an accomplished journalist and writer, a radio-industry research expert and an accomplished reporter and analyst covering the U.S. Hispanic marketing and advertising world.
Jacobson started his career as an intern for HISPANIC Magazine, working from its former Washington, DC headquarters. In this role, Jacobson authored a cover story on the contemporary Hispanic family – the only time in the magazine’s history that an intern received top billing for a news story. He was hired on in May 1994 … and fired a month later along with most of the staff as the publication moved to Austin, Texas.
Jacobson spent the next several months in a lousy newsletter job covering elder American issues and environmental policy before reconnecting with the late Anna Maria Arias and assisting with the launch of Latina Style Magazine. He also took on the part-time role of Publications Editor for the American Translators Association before heading west for an 11-year stint at Radio and Records – holding various positions while also assisting in the publication’s expansion of Spanish-language radio and music coverage.
In summer 2006, Jacobson returned to the east coast, taking on the role of associate editor at Hispanic Market Weekly. Two years later, he served as the top editor and launch director for Hispanic Market Weekly’s popular CMO Essentials online business newsletter – the first publication designed to reach marketers and brand managers who wished to enter the U.S. Hispanic market but hadn’t yet done so.
Jacobson’s tenure at HMW also included the highly successful launches of HispanicSportsBusiness and Latin Charts & Ratings, now known as HispanicEntertainmentBusiness. He also prepared and edited the weekly Industry Snapshots, authored and researched several Special Reports (including the first on Puerto Rico for Hispanic Market Weekly) and assisted in the preparation and reporting of news stories in the Daily News Briefs and weekly Hispanic Market Weekly newsletter.
Jacobson’s work has appeared in The Miami Herald, for which he served as a Los Angeles-based contributing editor covering the radio industry in South Florida.
As a radio-industry expert, Jacobson has enjoyed several media appearances, including ABC World News Tonight; National Public Radio Morning Edition; and Wisconsin Public Radio Conversations with Kathleen Dunn.
Interviews with Jacobson have appeared in a wide variety of newspapers, including USA TODAY, the New York Post, the Baltimore Sun and the Seattle Times.
